I’m back at it again! Doing a few book reviews for some Christian organizations!
Just a little reminder that I am no Bible scholar, nor am I a theologian but just a Christian woman who likes to read! And I have a blog…
So here it goes…
I am reviewing a graphic novel called “Covenant Kids” by Andrew Youngblood. I read “Book One: The Law” with my nine-year-old son.
It grabbed our attention in the beginning (my youngest is a fan of graphic novels so this genre was perfect for him!) and the plot was interesting to start.
The Book speaks of a group of young people who live in a town where it’s illegal to speak about Christianity and the Bible outside of church on Sundays. The kids form a secret study group which is risky. They discuss the old testament in this book and we begin to see opposition from folks who support the limited discussion of biblical things.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that it was a bit challenging for me to follow towards the end of this volume. However my son was enthralled and loved it! he mentioned at the end of the book that it was a cliffhanger which it is.
It was a easy to get through and gave us a lot of opportunity to discuss things that were brought up in this graphic novel!
I would recommend it and look forward to reading book number two to see how things unfold!
